  1. No mention of Starcraft 1 and 2? I get they may be too fast paced for new players but I think they deserve a spot in this list.

  2. Creeper World 3 & 4 (4 has fun coop, both endless user generated content), Northgard & Planetary Annihilation come to mind, at least Northgard & Creeper World 4 would be in my pick of fantastic coop RTS games!

  3. My main problem is the controls. I just can never seem to find that flow-like state; I’m never truly immersed. RTS games feel like work to me, and it doesn’t matter what I do, they always feel like a chore.

    I don’t mind playing on easy and going through the campaign my way, but the controls just never stop being tiresome. I’ve tried Age of Empires II and III, Spellforce I-III, Warcraft III, and Dawn of War (almost all titles), spending between 10 to 50 hours on each. I’m not giving up, though, as there are many games I want to experience. But I’m out of ideas on how to approach them and just … have fun. Help me Zade.
